March Meeting Report

The Chamber met at Heritage Hall on March 18 with 18 present. Sandra Moss presided in Tony Martin's absence. New members in attendance were Joe & Joyce Williams of The Woodchuck and Reo Lawrence of Solite. Discussion was held on Heritage Nights on Oct 4th & 5th. Hank Hageneau gave a brief Planning Commission report, addressing unnamed roads in the county as well as inviting people to the Planning Commission meetings on the 4th Mon in a new location in the basement of the County Administration Offices. He also shared an in-depth survey that was sent to residents of South Hill. Many of these survey questions will be considered for our next survey.

After diner, Linda Marion, Heritage Hall Administrator offered an interesting Power Point presentation on Health and Rehab Care. She shared the number of people that the Dillwyn facility employs, the salaries, the length of employment as well as the changes over the past 15 years in the care that is offered.

With the decision to put the survey in the Spring Fling Ad in the Herald and Free News, the numbers have increased greatly. Remember, you have until April 15th!

Spring Fling Ad

The 12th annual Spring Fling ad appeared in the Herald & the Free News & was featured on WBNN-Big Country during the first week of April. Members have an opportunity to announce a new business, to call attention to new products & to get their business name into the public eye at a reduced cost. This year 30+ businesses & professionals chose to participate in Spring Fling. If you have an a tracking system for your advertising or simply make note of responses, we hope Spring Fling worked for you!
